Parkinson's Disease - Can CBD Help?

A NEW STUDY LOOKING AT PARKINSON’S

The researchers in the study made sure that the cannabinoids (especially CBD) and their interaction with our endocannabinoid system are beneficial to alleviate many of the symptoms that are indicated with Parkinson’s.

This disease is a disorder that affects the nervous and muscular system of the body and creates a series of symptoms that develop gradually. They begin with a slight shaking of the limbs and end up producing dementia, insomnia and corporal rigidity. Moreover, it may cause endless pains and spasms that make normal daily life impossible. Many of these symptoms, according to this study, would be mitigated with CBD.

From what it seems in all the studies analyzed, different benefits could be demonstrated. Since the interaction of the CB1 and CB2 receptors in our endocannabinoid system with cannabinoids improves motor impairment, CBD cancels the shaking and rigidity in the body.

Despite all the proven benefits, the research team concluded that they should make a comprehensive study of the relationship between CBD and Parkinson’s to draw patterns and general standards around a possible therapy with CBD.
