Eight in ten Americans have changed their minds about cannabis use, according to a new poll, according to the New York Post. Find out what the reasons were.

THE RESULTS

A poll of 2,000 Americans found that 82 percent of respondents believe that their views on cannabis and related products have changed in recent years. Numerous respondents have already had experience with CBD.

Looking at their opinions just five years ago, more than half of Americans surveyed said they were more open-minded today than they were in the past.

HOW THIS TURNING POINT CAME ABOUT

Of those who changed their minds, a whopping 46 percent believed that this was due to the growing popularity of CBD products.

Changes in the law also had a significant impact. A provision in the “Agriculture Improvement Act” of 2018 – also known as the “Farm Bill” – lifted a nationwide ban on hemp cultivation and thus triggered today’s CBD boom in the USA. CBD sweets are particularly popular in the United States.

POPULAR WITH BEGINNERS: CBD SWEETS AND COFFEE

36% of those surveyed said they had tried a CBD product in the past year alone.

Of the 67% who have tried CBD at least once in their life, 60% said they had taken it in the form of a dietary supplement.

In second place were CBD sweets (51%) and CBD coffee (49%).

WHERE IS CBD LEGAL IN THE US?

While only nine states have legalized marijuana as a recreational drug so far, cannabis has had a year of growth behind it. It is in large part due to the increasing popularity of products containing CBD. Many states have legalized cannabis under different regulations, and CBD is already legal as a medical supplement across the country.
